An excellent opportunity for a STRATEGIC RETAIL CONSULTANT to be the CUSTOMER INSIGHT MANAGER for a leading Retailer.

Based in CAPE TOWN this CUSTOMER INSIGHT MANAGER role offers a salary of around R1M/annum.

This is a Senior Retail Consultant (Retail Client-side) position where you will support the delivery of the strategic planning processes, deliver relevant actionable insights, make recommendations and seek commercial opportunities by story-telling through data.

The insight and analytics teams are comprised of highly skilled analysts, working in a big data environment.

THE ROLE:
This position requires Strategic Retail Consultancy expertise – aligned to a vision of becoming the customers’ favourite retail brand, you will deliver market and customer insights to inform the retail strategy and key business stakeholders, such that business decisions reflect the market environment, opportunities and consumer behaviours and deliver to the goal of understanding of customer to drive a leading customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivery of the retail strategic planning processes, providing robust, relevant and actionable customer insights, recommendations and commercial opportunities.
Empower the business in their strategy and decision-making by providing the customer-view.
Provide strategic and operational customer reporting, interpretation and consultancy to Foods Categories, Buying Groups and Loyalty Brand Managers.
Stay abreast of global retail and customer trends and advise on their influence on target consumers.
Support the development of robust business cases with customer/marketplace analysis.
Manage business stakeholders as well as a team of Customer Insight Analysts.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analysing information and interpreting/translating into non-technical, commercial recommendations.
SAS or SQL or R programming proficiency.
Qlikview or other data visualisation software.
Knowledge of Database segmentation in a retail environment.
Experience in managing and leading a team.
10 years analysis or consultancy experience in retail sector or relevant organization.
Experience in data mining and working with large databases.
