This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate-to-senior FULL STACK WEB DEVELOPER (Python/Ruby/C/C++/PHP), to gain GOOGLE GO (GOLANG programming) experience with a truly technical innovative company.

Based in CAPE TOWN this DEVELOPER role offers a salary of R500K – R720K/annum (based on experience). Intermittent REMOTE WORKING is also on offer (but you must be based in CAPE TOWN).

This rapidly growing company (operating in both South Africa and Australia) focuses on innovative solutions for Juniper ecosystems – they are a Juniper Technology Partner. Their cloud-based network management platform provides a secure and simple way for Enterprises to manage environments. Their intuitive interface allows engineers with little or no Juniper skills the ability to configure and manage Juniper environments.

This role will be ideal for you if you are an INTERMEDIATE-TO-SENIOR DEVELOPER with Python/Ruby/C/C++/PHP programming skills and you are keen to LEARN GOOGLE GO (GOLANG). Training will be provided.

Joining a superbly skilled development team you will assist with current Ruby on Rails web app as well as take ownership of executing plans to migrate off of this framework to something more client side. The role involves maintaining current set of products and services as well as building new products and service. In this role you will work with The Newest Technologies and have the autonomy to create work without being micromanaged. Day-to-day you will lead development of new features for the future Platform, including Web UI, API integration and services. You will also grow the platform by actively participating in code reviews, pair programming, training and mentoring.

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
4+ years experience with shipping production code in any of JS, Go, Ruby, Python or PHP.
Good understanding of web technologies and how to best harness them for performance.
Nice to have:
Proficiency with databases (NoSQL and RDBMS) and RESTful APIs, will be an advantage (but not essential.
Passionate about pragmatic code design and strong desire to contribute to a small team.
Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and/or micro-services architecture (MSA) will also be a plus (but not essential).
Good understanding of Linux and how to best harness it for performance.
Some networking experience (network programming, Work at an ISP, etc.) will also be helpful.
You will be motivated by sharing knowledge, thrive on building a foundation for future products/services and implementing solutions in the present.
You value programming as a tool for problem solving and consider yourself a generalist.
