Acuity Consultants are currently looking for a Senior IT Specilaist / Technical Project Manager to work in a permanent position for a large South African retailer in Cape Town. My client is looking for somebody that has experience in mainframe software development and a proven track record of implementing medium to large sized projects.
This role will suit someone that comes from a technical background who has moved into Project Management whilst still remaining technically hands on. Aside from understanding the business requirements, key tasks will include converting these into system specifications by coding, testing and implementation. You will manage quality of medium to high risk projects and the day to day direction and coordination of the project team.

BSc or relevant tertiary qualification
In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Expertise in mainframe programming (Cobol, CICS, JCL)
Knowledge of VSAM file management
3-5 years experience of systems development and project management
Experience within both mainframe and client server application environments
A very high attention to detail
South African citizen
